Quarry Lakes Regional Recreational Area (2100 Isherwood Way, Fremont, CA)
Sunday, September 16th, 2012 at 9:00am
A scenic 9k (that's a bit over 5.5 miles) run, jog or walk mostly on dirt and paved trails
YOU! First timers to a race, seasoned runners, elite racers, joggers, walkers, skippers, and mothers with kids in tow—yes! Baby joggers are allowed; we even have a separate category for moms with baby joggers. Sorry guys, this one's just for the ladies!
- Title Nine Rag-A-Muffin Run starts at 8:15am
- Title 9K Race (all categories) starts at 9:00am*
The kids will have 3 age categories and line up according to these (see below).
There will be pace signs for the T9K race participants to line up behind.
* Please help us get everyone parked and ready to run on time by carpooling and arriving at least one hour before our start time of 9:00am.
Race T-Shirts & Goodies
All race registrants will receive a super sweet custom T9K T-shirt from Title Nine. The adult shirt is a cotton/poly mix – breathable and soft! Participants will also receive a custom Title Nine bag of Goodies – click here to read more about Goodies in store for you!
Check out the Directions below to see how to get to Quarry Lakes Recreational Area. Once there, please follow the directions of the parking lot volunteers who will direct you to your spot.
Please don't wait until the last minute to arrive! It will be a busy morning getting everyone parked and lined up for the race. Plus, you want time to finish your coffee or tea, have a little snack, use the potty, warm-up, and enjoy seeing your friends at the race! For that reason, please allow at least ONE HOUR prior to the race start, especially if you still have to pick-up your race bib and goodies at the Expo area.
There is usually a $5 parking fee – but don't fret! Title Nine will take care of that for you! Please still carpool or take public transportation to decrease congestion and keep it green. Note: Anyone arriving after 8:45am will pay for parking!
Riding your bike to the race? Fantastic! We will have a bike corral with volunteers to guard your steed while you run.
You have a couple of options here:
Early Packet Pick-Up: (Highly Recommended!) We strongly encourage you to sign-up for pre-race packet pick up at one of our 5 Bay Area stores the week prior to the race. Packet pick-up starts Wednesday, September 12 and goes through Saturday, September 15th during store hours. Picking up your packet prior to race day will allow you some extra time to enjoy the morning, eat your snacks, chill with a friend, or hang-out with your family pre-race. It is the race day hassle free option.
Note: If you just can't make it to the store, we will bring your race packet to the park on race day. Just remember to get there extra early to get it!
Race Day Packet Pick-Up: You can stick with the tried and true of picking up your race number and goodie bag on race day from 7:00am to 8:30am.
Aid Stations & Potties
There will be 2 clearly marked aid stations – one you will pass by twice. Aid stations will be stocked with water, sports drink, first aid, cheering fans, and some snacks. And of course, there will be a yummy Chocolate Station near the end because what's a race without chocolate!
There will be plenty of porta-potties stationed near the start area, and there are several places with park potties along the course.
The top three fastest women across the line, the fastest mom with baby jogger, and the first girl under 18 will get awards, so stick around for the awards ceremony! Also, the best three “Why I Run” stories will also get awards.
Thank you, Timbuk2, for generously donating your classic and incredible messenger bags for our winner's prizes! We will fill them with fantastic goodies from several of our contributors. What a treat to win a Timbuk2 bag and all the good stuff inside!
Many generous companies wanted to fill these great Timbuk2 bags with full sizes of their great goods! And quite a few of these vendors will also be at the Expo and/or have products in the Goodie Bags. Check them out!

T9K Rag-A-Muffin Run
Do you have some little ones in your family 8 years or younger who would love to get in on the action? Well, we have just the thing...our Title Nine Rag-A-Muffin Fun Run. It's only about 50 yards and it's FREE!
The first race will start at 8:15am sharp, so please get to the Packet Pick-Up Tent to sign up your junior runner by 8:00am at the very latest. This pint-sized event will be run in three "heats" again this year. Here is how the fun breaks down:
- 2 to 3 years = The Rumbling Reds
- 4 to 5 years = The Blazing Blues
- 6 to 8 years = The Yahoo Yellows
The race "course" is a next to the T9K+ starting line. The little guys and gals run about 50 yards on the asphalt road next to the expo.
There will be treats at the end of the races for ALL the little guys and gals. This is a great opportunity to get your kids exposed to the excitement and joy of running!
Please do know that we will have a kid's activity tent and other games to entertain your little ones. We do not provide child care so please make sure that all kids have an adult with them.
