Race Info

About The Course

The race is a scenic 9k+ loop around the Boulder Reservoir. We call it a t9k+ ‘cause the entire course equals 6.1 miles. The course begins inside the entrance of the Boulder Reservoir. It travels back out the front gates and then north to Monarch Road, turns east on Monarch and then south onto the Feeder Canal. Finally the course crosses the Reservoir's two damn walls and finishes out near the Pavilion. The course is mostly dirt roads and wide trails. It is rolling, but not technical.

*Mother and Baby Jogger Category
If you are a mom with a wee one in a baby jogger, please register in the "Mom with baby jogger" category. We've heard your feedback and we have divided the baby jogger folks into two categories: running and walking. We will have signs at the race start for you to line up behind. And if you'll be walking the course with a baby jogger, we ask that you do your best to stay to the right of the course.

**Mother/Child Category
Whether your young (or not so young) one is 12 or 40, you can register together in the same category. There is a nice price break to do this! However, please note: there will be only one goodie bag per team. Don't worry each person on the mother/child team will get a t-shirt! Each team member will have their time listed individually, according to their age group.

ONE IMPORTANT EXCEPTION: if your child is male 18 or over, he'll have to sit this out and cheer you on from the sidelines. The race is for women, girls and moms and kids (boys under 18). If he would like to volunteer as a helper, then that's another way your 18 and over boy can be part of this wonderful event too!

Race T-Shirts

We will have a race t-shirt for all registered race participants.

Start Times

Rag-A-Muffin Run starts at 8:15am
Title 9K+ Race (all categories) starts at 9:00am

There will be pace signs for you to line up behind.

All races start ON TIME inside the Boulder Reservoir gates. You'll see the balloon arches. Please arrive at least one hour before your start time.

Packet Pick-Up

Early Packet Pick-Up: Highly recommended! If you specify a store pick-up when you register, you can grab your race number, goodie bag, and race shirt at that particular store beginning Monday, May 2nd through the end of the day on Saturday, May 7th. If you registered to pick-up your packet at a specific store, then that's where you need to pick it up! However, if you just can't make it to the store by Saturday, don't you worry: we'll bring your packet with us to the Boulder Reservoir on Sunday morning and you can get it there from 7:00am to 8:30am.

Directions to the stores can be found on our store web pages:
Cherry Creek
Colorado Springs

If you just can't make it to one of the stores, you can register to pick up your race number and goodie bag at the Boulder Reservoir on race day from 6:30am to 8:30am.

Aid Stations & Potties

There will be a total of 4 clearly marked aid stations spaced evenly along the course. Aid stations will be stocked with water, sports drinks, first aid, cheering fans and other cool stuff. Of course, there's the famous and extra yummy Chocolate Station near the end!

There will be porta-potties stationed at the start area, aid stations, finish line and expo area and in the parking lot.

The top three fastest women across the line, the top mom with stroller, and the first girl and boy under 18 will get awards, so stick around for the awards ceremony! Also, the Best Three Stories will also get awards. Please tell us your story surrounding this event when you pick up your packet – we'd love to hear it!
