Our photo shoots are down-and-dirty affairs. Early mornings. Late nights. Tents. Dirt everywhere—even in our smiles. No makeup kits—just hair ties, sunscreen, and first aid. And women running the whole damn show.

These women don’t just show up in our stories—they shape them. They inspire us, put our gear through the wringer, tell us what works—and what doesn’t—and remind us who we’re making it for in the first place: badass women in the outdoors.

Women like Latasha, a climber, artist, and activist pushing for diversity, inclusion, and justice in the outdoors. She even worked with Merrell to reimagine one of its longest-running trail shoes around a simple idea: the outdoors is for everyone.

And Demi, a Pacific Northwest entrepreneur, mountain biker, and wellness practitioner—just as comfortable sending it on two wheels as she is helping others get grounded and take care of themselves.

And Nafessa, a sociology professor focused on race, religion, and immigration—and a ski mountaineer supporting Pakistani women getting on skis and building outdoor community in the Karakoram Range.

This fall, we took our all-women crew to British Columbia’s Chilcotins to ride hard, get dirty, and put our gear through the wringer. Because at T9, the women wearing the gear are the ones who decide what becomes a legend.
