Product Development Planner - Emeryville, CA
Title Nine is a leading multi-channel retailer of women's athletic apparel and gear with retail stores, a thriving website, and mail order business. We are everyday athletes and fitness fanatics and we are on the lookout for an experienced Distribution Planner to join our Inventory Control team.
Does this sound like you?
Are you a planner? Are you a numbers planner with enough personality and pizzazz to walk into a room and talk numbers with the best of them? If so, you’re probably an analytical dynamo who just so happens to understand demand vs. sales. You’re the person who sees the perfect tipping point in inventory planning: managing the art and science of margin. Do you get excited by how many units we can sell on our infamous WOW Wednesdays? Are you able to stay calm when your world tilts 180 degrees and not get discouraged? Barriers don’t slow you down and you love navigating unknown territories of metrics and numbers. Sound good? If so, read on. This could be the job for you.
What you will do in this job
- Plan and execute preseason purchase orders to achieve sales goals
- Manage in-season reforecast based on selling trends and revise purchase orders accordingly.
- Insure on time delivery of all purchase orders, partnering with our shipping consolidator managing shipping and customs.
- Work with accounting to manage vendor invoices and payment as well as forecast cash flow.
- Partner closely with Merchants and Product Development on the planning and execution of T9 product
- Create strong working relationships with all product development vendors
- Support specialized store assortments
- Special projects, analysis and reports assignments as needed
What Title Nine needs from you
- Minimum of 2-3 years retail planning and distribution experience preferred
- Excellent analytical skills
- Proven ability to work on multiple seasons deadlines
- Proven strength in collaborating with other departments and reaching agreements that are best for Title Nine
- Diplomacy
- Organizational time management
- Microsoft excel, Outlook and the aptitude to learn technical applications quickly
- Proven ability to communicate clearly in email – the majority of our business partners are oversees and not on your time schedule or may not speak English.

Senior Merchant - Emeryville, CA
We’re on the search for a senior merchant to join our team. Do you use your dress or skirt as a changing room at the trailhead when you’re out for a run? If so, you might be our gal. If sports and fitness are a part of your life that you can’t live without, if you love to shop and you understand how to lead a team through the total merchandising process, this job could be for you.
What you will do in this job:
- Develop assortment plans that supports the business’s goals and key item focus
- Help build comprehensive assortment strategies and plans that drive our brand and our business through all channels
- Help build and execute on a seasonal calendar that ensures the team meets critical deadlines
- Work with the merch and the product development teams to develop new styles across categories
- Analyze historical sales performance and use as a tool in making merchandising strategy
- Responsible for vendor selection, negotiation and product management
- Write product positioning statements to support
- Evaluate and work on prints for all apparel
- Coordinate samples for photo shoots
